Arsenal ‘Seriously Considering’ €100M Move for Real Madrid Star Rodrygo
Real Madrid are preparing for a major transformation this summer. With Xabi Alonso set to replace Carlo Ancelotti at the helm and the arrivals of Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold already secured, Los Blancos are building for the future. While several new additions are expected, one of the key uncertainties remains: who will be leaving the Santiago Bernabéu?
The most high-profile potential departure? Rodrygo Goes.
The Brazilian forward has always been in the shadow of Vinícius Júnior and, more recently, Kylian Mbappé. With limited minutes and being pushed to the right wing—his less-preferred side—Rodrygo struggled to maintain consistent form this season. That imbalance may now lead to his exit, especially with Real Madrid seeking a better tactical fit in attack.
Arsenal Pushing Hard for Rodrygo
According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal are “seriously considering” a move for Rodrygo this summer. Talks have already started behind the scenes, and although negotiations are still in the early stages and the deal is described as “difficult,” the Gunners are expected to explore every possible avenue.
Rodrygo has also been on the radar of other English giants like Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City. However, at the moment, it’s Arsenal who are taking the most concrete steps.
Exit Only Avoidable If Alonso Intervenes
Reports from Madrid suggest that Rodrygo is open to leaving the club, especially if he doesn’t receive strong assurances from new manager Xabi Alonso regarding his role. So far, no conversation has taken place between the two, but Real Madrid are willing to part ways with Rodrygo if a bid in the range of €90-100 million is tabled.
It all hinges on whether Alonso sees him as a crucial piece in the 2024/25 project—or if the time has come for the Brazilian to start a new chapter.
🗣️ Madridista’s View:
Rodrygo is a talented player with big-game pedigree—just ask Chelsea, City, or PSG. But sometimes, talent alone isn’t enough if the system doesn’t bring out your best. If Rodrygo feels sidelined and there’s no clear role under Alonso, maybe a move is best for both sides. Still, it would hurt to see him shine elsewhere when we know what he’s capable of in white. Whatever happens, gracias por todo, Rodry!
