Real Madrid continue to invest in the future as they explore new additions to their squad ahead of the upcoming season. With several transfers already close to completion, including right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and young defender Dean Huijsen, the club is now turning its attention to emerging talents from Latin America.

Among the latest prospects on their radar is 17-year-old midfielder Franco Mastantuono, currently playing for River Plate. According to reports from Argentina, representatives of Mastantuono recently visited Madrid, where they held a meeting with club officials. The player, who joined the discussion via video call, has previously agreed not to leave River before the end of 2025, despite growing interest from European giants.

While Mastantuono’s release clause is set at €45 million, Real Madrid are reportedly planning to make an offer in the range of €30 million. The deal would be aimed for the 2025 season, once the player becomes eligible to move to Europe.

The race for the Argentine star is heating up, with Premier League sides Liverpool and Manchester United also showing strong interest. However, Mastantuono is believed to be open to a future move to Real Madrid, which could work in the Spanish club’s favor.

Real Madrid have a strong track record in signing South American talent. Under the guidance of Head Scout Juni Calafat, the club has successfully secured players like Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Endrick. Current Sporting Director Santiago Solari, who has a close connection with River Plate, is reportedly involved in the talks, further strengthening the possibility of a deal.
