Match Review & Player Ratings
Real Madrid produced a match full of brilliance and chaos in Piraeus, defeating Olympiakos by just one goal in a game where their attack shone but their defensive structure completely collapsed. Here are the full player ratings from a dramatic night in Greece.
Goalkeeper
Andriy Lunin – 7.5
Although Real Madrid conceded three times, Lunin made key saves in the first half and kept the team alive during Olympiakos’ most dangerous spells. A strong return to the starting lineup.
Defenders
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6.5
Excellent delivery going forward, but defensively unreliable. Similar issues to previous matches: great technique, but caught out of position too often.
Raúl Asencio – 5.5
Struggled physically against El Kaabi and Taremi. Although not directly responsible for Olympiakos’ second goal, he was nowhere near the duel and often late into challenges.
Álvaro Carreras – 5
Playing out of position and it showed. Lost Taremi several times and Madrid suffered badly from crosses on his side. A tough night.
Ferland Mendy – 7
Solid performance considering the chaos around him. Defended well and didn’t contribute to the major defensive breakdowns.
Midfielders
Arda Güler – 8
Brilliant in Madrid’s dominant first-half spell. Controlled the rhythm, connected the attack, and provided a beautiful assist. Faded in the second half but still one of the best performers.
Aurélien Tchouaméni – 6.5
Very good in midfield, winning duels and distributing calmly. However, when forced to help in defence later, he looked uncomfortable and struggled to contain Olympiakos’ final push.
Fede Valverde – 4
One of his quietest performances this season. Could not influence the game, whether on the right side or drifting inside. A match that simply passed him by.
Eduardo Camavinga – 7.5
Poor first 10 minutes, then grew into the match beautifully. Won the ball repeatedly and provided a fantastic assist for Mbappé. One of Madrid’s best in the midfield battle.

Attackers
Vinicius Junior – 10
His best performance of the season. Electrifying from start to finish. Created two exceptional assists, constantly threatened, and was unlucky not to score multiple goals. This was vintage Vinicius—fast, decisive, and unstoppable.
Kylian Mbappé – 9
Four goals delivered with absolute class. Perfect movement, perfect finishing, and total dominance in transition. When Mbappé plays like this, Real Madrid simply win matches.

Substitutes
Fran García – N/A
Came on late, little time to impact the match.
Jude Bellingham – 5
Had one attempt deflected wide but struggled to find his place as the game became messy. Played cautiously after nearly missing the match due to a minor issue.
Brahim Díaz – 5.5
Showed one nice run but lacked decisiveness. Not the sharp version of Brahim from past seasons.
Dani Ceballos – 5
Introduced to bring more control, but the opposite happened. Madrid lost stability with him on the pitch.

Coach
Xabi Alonso – 4.5
A mixed night. On the positive side, he unlocked the best version of Mbappé and Vinicius together for the first time this season, and Güler’s role in the buildup worked perfectly.
However, the defensive setup was chaotic. The experimental backline struggled badly, and Madrid once again failed to control the match—a recurring problem in recent games.
📌 Conclusion
Real Madrid walked away with the win, powered by Mbappé’s finishing and Vinicius’ brilliance, but defensive issues remain alarming. A thrilling match, but one that exposed major vulnerabilities Xabi Alonso must address quickly.
💬 MadridistasZone comment
This match showed the best and the worst of Real Madrid. Vinicius and Mbappé were incredible, but the defensive problems are worrying. Still, a win is a win, and the attack was simply unstoppable.
