Real Madrid’s summer transfer window is not only about star names and first-team reinforcements. Behind the scenes, the club is also working hard to strengthen its Castilla side — and the next potential gem could be Christian Kofane, an 18-year-old striker from Cameroon.
Gonzalo Garcia Out, Kofane In?
With Gonzalo Garcia Torres expected to leave the club this summer after a record-breaking season (25 goals in Primera RFEF), Castilla are now looking for a new talent to lead the attack. Garcia’s departure will create a major gap in Raul’s side, and the club is actively scouting for a suitable replacement.
According to Rodra, the player topping Real Madrid’s wishlist is Christian Kofane, who currently plays for Albacete. The powerful forward joined the Spanish club mid-season from AS Nylon in Cameroon and quickly made a name for himself — scoring eight goals and providing one assist in just 20 appearances.
Madrid Face Competition for Kofane
Despite his potential, signing Kofane won’t be easy. While Real Madrid are very interested, Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly ready to activate his €5 million release clause, putting them in pole position.
Meanwhile, Real Betis and Sevilla are also monitoring the situation closely, making this a highly contested battle for one of Africa’s top young prospects.

Another Cameroonian Talent on the Radar
Interestingly, Kofane isn’t the only Cameroonian forward on Real Madrid’s radar. Etta Eyong of Villarreal B is also attracting attention. The 21-year-old striker scored 19 goals and provided 6 assists this season in the third tier and even netted a winner for Villarreal’s first team against Girona late in the La Liga campaign.
Eyong’s experience at senior level may give him an edge, but Real Madrid are said to be interested in both players as they look to build a strong Castilla side for the 2025/26 season — possibly prepping future first-team stars under Xabi Alonso.
